It’s interesting that Lifetime will be chronicling the months leading up to the crime, in an effort to piece together the motive. It remains to be seen how closely the script will follow the #1yearagotodayCW timeline, but if it does it may well clarify rather than cloud the premeditation narrative.
According to People:
Sean Kleier (Odd Mom Out) has been cast as Chris, Ashley Williams (How I Met Your Mother), as Shanann and Brooke Smith (Bates Motel, Ray Donovan) as FBI agent Tammy Lee. Sony Pictures Television is producing the film for Lifetime.

I’ve actually wanted to look at the Casey Anthony movie, I’m not going to lie. I love Rob Lowe, and from what I can tell, he portrays Jeff Ashton well.
I do not, however, trust Lifetime to search for any truths or do anything but play to the mainstream media version of Watts case. Just a totally “different animal” from Casey Anthony, and with too many gaping holes to fill with nonsense, sensationalism, and the silliest of speculations. Hard pass.
Agreed! Lifetime movies have never been about getting to the truth of these cases. Maybe I’m biased because I’m more of a documentary watcher with actual videos, photos and interviews with the people involved. I don’t need an actor or actress to act out the case, with over the top drama, and misrepresentation of the actual people. If they even present 1 of the points from Crime Rocket, instead of keeping it surface level, I will be very surprised!
